in #4 you state
"4. Copyright: You promise that you are the copyright owner of the image and you own the system in the image."

i did a few mods, which i recently sold. i assume that i cant enter those cause i dont own the system anymore. or can i still submit them....

also does "prototype" cases count.. i usually test on some cardboard the shape fit etc by actually bolting the parts in place in the cardboard... then later use metal or plastic to build the actual mod (asking cause i have a difficult mod i want to build out of metal and have yet to work out all the details)

Duck:

1) You should be the owner of the system

2) A custom case is fine, but I'm not sure that your definition of a prototype would count. It really wouldn't be a case at that point would it?

It usually takes a few months for these contests to finish so you still have time to complete what you are working on. As of yet no one has entered.

Have a great day!

Past winners

Hi all, I was just wondering why all the pictures of the winning cases from the last contest are gone from the site? I took the link to the 2nd contest thread to check out all the handywork, and found that none of the pics from the champs were showing.
It would be a shame to go to the trouble of tricking out a case, only to discover after entering that it was too much like a winning case from the past. Is there a winners' gallery somewhere that I just haven't found yet?

i could have done better

-its a little sloppy. can we say short, fat , and ugly.
-need to fix a rattling sound around my radiator fan, regroup the power cables, and do a clean install of everything.
-looking to buy some more hardware, removable hd bay,
-able something to replace my floppy drive, not really sure, maybe a ls120, orb, or sony hd200 if that is what it is called and if i can find it.

Jaxton:

The first place winners for contest 1 are at:
http://www.directron.com/contest1win.html

I'm working on recovering the pictures in the second mod contest. We are actually going to move the entire thread in to a web page for easier access.

The winner of the 2nd contest was henf, unfortunately the hosting for his origional pictures appears to be gone so I have to recover them. He won another contest with the same case though -- Here are some pictures to look at in the mean time:
http://www.bjorn3d.com/_preview.php?articleID=7&pageID=28

Mnpctech won second with this entry:
http://directron.infopop.net/2/OpenTopic?a=tpc&s=476097824&f=8483070423&m=3993037593&r=6843080735

unfortunately Raf's entry is missing.

The problem is that many of the modders used their own hosting for pictures and then moved their hosting so their pictures became dead linked.

Have a great day!

WOW!

Thanks for the links, L.P.. I am now suitably intimidated Eek. I'd skimmed through the galleries before, but, like I said, Wow!

I'm sure my project won't be quite in the league of creativity that those winning entries display, but, I'll be posting my pretty little box in just a few weeks. I'm merely waiting for my tax refund...mwaahhhaahaahaahaaaaa!

This is where you put pictures, however you can't use Geocities to host pictures. It doesn't allow off-linking. You need a better hosting service or you need to use the "Attach option" when you post your message. I'll go ahead and recover the pictures and make the links work.

Have a great day!
