DELL DIMENSION E520 STUCK IN POWER SAVING MODE

Hello~

I have researched this and found it a fairly common problem. I can't seem to fix it though. My PC boots fine but goes in to Power saving mode and stays there.

I have (several times) powered down, disconnected all accessories/peripherals and rebooted both in normal and in SAFE mode (by pressing function and F8 keys simultaneously). NO dice. The sounds of Windows are heard but the monitor stays dark and only flashes the message POWER SAVING MODE.

I also have tested the monitor, power cords, mouse and keyboard and their respective cables on a second computer and all work just fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mark

It could possibly be a failing power supply. Do you have another power supply you can use for testing?

I'am having the problem of monitor saying no singal and then going to safe mode. Mouse and key Board not responding. Were this the same problem? Did you resolve your issue?
